door ornamentation

Door ornamentation is the general name for the polyurethane decorative work applied to a doorway and its surround. Using casing, crown, capital and profile pieces, it frames the door and creates an architectural accent. It is used at interior and exterior door entrances where a classical, neoclassical or simple modern look is wanted. The polyurethane material is light and applies directly with assembly adhesive and screws; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell and can be painted. Being lighter than plaster makes installation at high points easier, and unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture or insects. Because it is mould-cast, the profile and motif details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces door ornamentation pieces in a range of sizes and profile options.
