short roman column

A short roman column is a polyurethane version of the column form from classical Roman architecture, produced at a low height. It serves as a load-bearing-look decorative element in places that do not require a full-height column, such as waist-height partitions, console fronts, vanity bases and display stands. It consists of a shaft, base and capital. The polyurethane material is lightweight and easy to install; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Being far lighter than stone or plaster equivalents, it can be carried and positioned by a single person. Because it is mould-produced, the fluting and capital details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces the short roman column in different diameter and height options.
