classical decoration motifs

Classical decoration motifs are the traditional ornamental patterns used in classical architecture, such as the acanthus leaf, egg-and-dart, bead course, palmette and scrolling vine. They appear as relief ornament on the surfaces of cornices, door surrounds, column capitals and ceiling roses. These motifs are mould-cast from polyurethane; the material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Because it is mould-cast, the fine details of the motif repeat sharply and identically on every piece, giving faster and more consistent results than hand-made plaster ornament. Polure produces classical decoration motifs in a range of sizes and pattern options.
