A classic window surround profile is the polyurethane profile form that defines the cross-section and embossed line of the trim applied to window and door edges. With profile types such as a flat surface, chamfered edge or multi-stepped moulding, it forms the frame of the opening. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. It is more resistant to breakage than plaster profiles and, unlike timber, is not affected by moisture. Because each piece is mould-cast, the profile line is exactly the same on every unit.
