A small corbel is a compact polyurethane decorative bracket that provides visual support between a wall and a shelf, console top, or projection. It is typically used under shelves, along countertop and sink edges, at cornice transitions, and on narrow wall sections, serving both as a load-bearing accent and as ornamentation. Polyurethane is lightweight and is applied directly to the wall with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell, or warp, and can be painted. Unlike a wooden corbel, it will not bend from moisture, and it is more break-resistant than a plaster equivalent.
