Rustic Polyurethane Faux Wood Corbel Bracket P1981DK

The P1981DK polyurethane faux wood corbel is a premium architectural element engineered to replicate the heavy, rustic appearance of aged timber. Designed to serve as a highly realistic decorative bracket or beam support, it brings the cozy, authentic character of alpine chalets and historical country manors to modern building projects. By eliminating the immense physical weight of solid oak or stone, this decorative corbel allows designers and architects to introduce dramatic timber-look accents to both interior ceilings and exterior facades without compromising the structural integrity of the building.

Manufactured from high-grade rigid polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this substantial architectural piece measures 290x345x370 mm. This specific material density gives the corbel a robust, impact-resistant surface that behaves much like dense natural wood, yet outperforms it under harsh environmental conditions. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, the product has low water absorption (below 1%), making it highly resistant to rot, decay, swelling, or insect infestation. It remains dimensionally stable, showing no warping or cracking where dimensional stability has been tested between -20 °C and +70 °C.

Visually, the P1981DK stands out with its exceptionally detailed, rough-hewn log-end texture. The curved front face features realistic concentric annual growth rings (end-grain details), while the sides display deep longitudinal grain patterns, weathered cracks, and natural wood knots. This highly tactile surface captures the raw charm of hand-carved timber, adding immediate historical depth, warmth, and texture to any architectural composition.

This versatile polyurethane corbel is ideal for positioning beneath faux ceiling beams, framing rustic fireplace mantels, supporting deep roof overhangs, or accentuating exterior porch pillars. The product comes with a factory-applied primer that prepares the surface for painting. For exterior installations, coating the corbel with a UV-resistant exterior paint is mandatory to prevent discoloration from sunlight. While the factory primer facilitates paint adhesion, applying an additional primer according to your paint manufacturer's guidelines is optional and highly recommended for long-term finish guarantees.

Compared to heavy plaster decorations that chip easily or fragile EPS foam that lacks surface strength, this rigid polyurethane bracket offers a highly durable, lightweight, and easy-to-install alternative. The installation process is straightforward, requiring only standard woodworking tools, polyurethane (PU) structural adhesive, and mechanical screw fastening to ensure a secure, permanent hold that will not degrade over time.
