Furniture ornamentation is the decorative application made by adding polyurethane appliqués, corner pieces, profiles and centrepieces to furniture surfaces. It is used to give plain cabinet, display unit, door and headboard surfaces a classical or carved look. Polyurethane parts are lighter than wood carving and are applied directly with wood glue or construction adhesive; they resist moisture and impact, do not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted to match the furniture colour.
