Polyurethane Decorative Pediment

A polyurethane decorative pediment is a polyurethane embellishment element, usually in a triangular or arched form, placed above doors and windows or at a facade entrance. In classic architecture it is used as an accent element that crowns the top of an opening. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied with mounting adhesive and, where needed, mechanical fixing; it resists moisture and impact, will not crack, swell or split, and takes paint well. Being much lighter than a stone or plaster pediment, it makes high-level installation easier, and unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture and can also be used on facades. Because it is mould-cast, the motif detail is identical on every piece. Polure produces the decorative pediment in a range of sizes and patterns.
