polyurethane carving

Polyurethane carving is a decorative relief element that reproduces the look of wood carving using polyurethane. It is used on walls, ceilings, furniture, doors and panel surfaces to achieve classic carved ornamentation. Polyurethane is lightweight and applied directly with construction adhesive; it is resistant to moisture and impact, is insect-proof, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. It is much lighter and more affordable than real wood carving and is unaffected by moisture; because it is mould-cast, the same carved detail repeats on every piece. In this respect it gives faster, more consistent results than hand carving. Polure produces carved-motif products in a range of sizes and patterns.
