smooth column

A smooth column is a straight-shaft polyurethane column element with no flutes or pattern on its surface. It is used on building facades, in entrance arrangements, and for interior column cladding to give a plain column look. Polyurethane is lighter than concrete and wood and is applied with assembly adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister, or peel, and can be painted. Its flat surface gives a smooth look suited to modern architecture. Being light makes lifting and fitting at height easier. A column usually consists of a shaft, base, and capital. Polure produces the smooth column in a range of diameters and heights.
