Smooth Polyurethane Decorative Column Shaft Model

The P5850B decorative column shaft is a premium architectural element designed to bring structured elegance and classical proportions to modern spaces. Featuring a completely smooth, un-fluted cylindrical profile, this column casing serves as a versatile solution for interior zoning, grand entrances, and decorative facade detailing. It allows architects and interior designers to create commanding visual focal points without the structural complexity of traditional masonry.

Manufactured from high-density rigid polymer material with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this shaft mimics the solid feel of wood while remaining incredibly lightweight. The closed-cell structure ensures a water absorption rate of less than 1%, making it highly resistant to humidity, rot, and moisture damage. With an operational temperature range from -20 °C / +70 °C, it maintains absolute dimensional stability under diverse climatic conditions, while its fire class is B2 (DIN 4102-1).

Visually, the clean, minimalist surface of this model presents a blank canvas for various architectural styles. Unlike heavily ornamented classical pillars, the smooth cylinder fits seamlessly into contemporary, transitional, or neoteric designs. It can be easily combined with diverse decorative capitals and bases, allowing you to customize the column's final aesthetic from minimalist Doric to elaborate Corinthian styles.

This cladding solution is ideal for wrapping existing structural supports, such as steel pipes or concrete pillars, in commercial and residential settings. It is widely specified for luxury hotel lobbies, grand reception halls, spacious living rooms, and wedding venues. On exterior facades, it adds majestic charm to verandas, porticos, and garden pergolas when finished with a protective coating.

Installation is straightforward and efficient compared to heavy stone or plaster alternatives. The lightweight shaft is cut to height, positioned around the support core, and joined using polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive. Mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to ensure long-term stability. Once secured, joint areas are filled, sanded smooth, and finished with paint. While the factory-applied primer prepares the surface, an extra primer layer is optional depending on your paint manufacturer's specifications.
