shelf support element
A shelf support element is a polyurethane part placed beneath wall-mounted shelves that carries the shelf and provides a decorative look. On console shelves, mantel tops and wall niches it serves both for load support and ornamentation. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. It is more impact-resistant than plaster equivalents and, unlike wood, is unaffected by moisture. Because it is mould-cast, the profile and relief detail repeat identically on every piece. Polure manufactures shelf support elements in a range of sizes and profile options.
