rustic rafter support

A rustic rafter support is a wood-textured polyurethane decorative support element that makes rafter ends or beam joints look as if they are bearing a load. It is used on open ceilings and canopies at rafter ends to complete the load-bearing appearance. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Unlike real wood it is unaffected by moisture and not attacked by insects, and compared with plaster it is lighter and more break-resistant. Because the wood grain texture on the surface is mould-produced, it stays the same on every piece. Polure produces rustic rafter supports in a range of sizes.
