wood-alternative slat
A wood-alternative slat is a thin, long polyurethane decorative profile used in place of a real wooden slat. It is used on walls, ceilings and furniture surfaces for panelling, framing and decorative striping. The polyurethane material is lightweight; it is applied directly with assembly adhesive and is easily cut with a saw. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or peel, and can be painted. Unlike a wooden slat it is not attacked by insects, does not bow and does not deform in humid conditions. As it is mould-cast, the section and pattern are identical every metre. Polure produces wood-alternative slats in a range of widths and profiles.
