Gold Leaf Ceiling Decoration

Gold leaf ceiling decoration is a style created by applying gold leaf or gilding to the surfaces of polyurethane cornices, medallions, mouldings and panels installed on the ceiling. It is used on the ceilings of classical and neoclassical living rooms, entrance halls and reception areas. Polyurethane elements are lightweight and are fixed to the ceiling with assembly adhesive; they resist moisture and impact, do not crack or swell and can be painted. For the gold finish the surface is primed, then leaf or gold gilding is applied. Being lighter than a plaster equivalent makes installation easier in overhead work like ceilings and reduces the risk of pieces falling.
