Gold Leaf Ceiling Medallion

A gold leaf ceiling medallion is a polyurethane ceiling medallion applied at the centre of the ceiling, usually around the chandelier outlet, with gold leaf or gilding applied to its surface. It is used in classical and neoclassical living room and entrance hall ceilings as a decorative element framing the chandelier. The polyurethane medallion is lightweight and is fixed to the ceiling with assembly adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell. For the gold finish the surface is primed, then leaf or gold gilding is applied. Being lighter than a plaster equivalent makes ceiling installation easy and lowers the risk of breakage. Because it is mould-produced, the relief patterns repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces ceiling medallions in different diameter and pattern options.
