A balcony baluster system is a complete railing set made up of short vertical posts arranged between the bottom and top rail of a balcony railing, together with the elements that support them. The balusters support the rail line and give the railing a classic or modern profile. Polyurethane baluster systems are lightweight and speed up installation; they resist moisture and outdoor conditions, do not crack or swell, and can be painted with exterior facade paint. Because they are mould-cast, every baluster has the same profile and size, producing a clean, even repetition across the whole run. The system is usually assembled with the bottom rail, baluster row, top rail and newel elements installed together.
