A decorative column capital is a polyurethane element forming the topmost section of a column, defining the transition between the shaft and the ceiling. It is produced in plain or leaf-relief forms according to classical orders such as Doric, Ionic and Corinthian; it is used in living rooms, entrances and facades as the upper piece of a column set. The polyurethane material is light and is applied above the column shaft with assembly adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Being lighter than stone and plaster alternatives, it is easy to install at height. Because it is mould-cast, the relief details repeat identically across every piece.
