A decorative ceiling coffer is a polyurethane panel unit bordered by trim strips that forms a framed compartment on the ceiling. It is used to divide the ceiling into square or rectangular coffers, giving geometric pattern and shadow depth. It forms a single unit of the repeating coffer arrangement found in classic ceiling designs. The polyurethane elements are lightweight and applied to the ceiling with mounting adhesive; they resist moisture and impact, do not crack or blister, and can be painted. Being lighter than a plaster equivalent, they add no load to the ceiling and install quickly. As they are mould-cast, the coffer profile and corner details are identical on every piece.
