Exterior Facade String Course

An exterior facade string course is a polyurethane profiled border element that forms a horizontal line between floors on a building's outer facade. It is used to emphasise floor transitions and divide the facade horizontally. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is fixed to the facade with mounting adhesive and mechanical fasteners. It resists moisture, rain and UV; it does not crack, blister or rot and can be painted with exterior facade paint. Being far lighter than a stone string course, it adds no extra load to the facade and speeds up installation; compared with wood it does not absorb moisture. With its sloped top surface, it helps direct rainwater away from the facade. Because it is mould-produced, the profile continues in the same cross-section along the whole facade.
