A lightweight ceiling beam reproduces the look of a wooden beam using polyurethane and is a low-weight decorative beam element fitted to the ceiling. It is used to create a rustic or classic beam look on living room, kitchen and loft ceilings. Polyurethane is much lighter than real wood, so a single person can carry it and apply it onto a wooden frame or directly to the ceiling with construction adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, will not rot, crack or swell, and can be painted; a painted wood-grain finish gives it a near-real appearance.
