Polyurethane Decorative Wood Beam and Rustic Ceiling Log

The P1981M decorative faux wood beam is designed to introduce the authentic charm of natural timber to your architectural projects without the structural challenges of heavy logs. Measuring 200 mm in width, 3000 mm in length, and 200 mm in height, this robust beam serves as an excellent ceiling rafter or decorative lintel, creating an immediate focal point in residential and commercial spaces alike.

Manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane (150-220 kg/m³), this product offers a wood-like surface hardness while remaining exceptionally lightweight. Thanks to its closed-cell physical structure, it features low water absorption (below 1%), making it highly resistant to rotting, warping, swelling, or pest infestations. Its dimensional stability has been tested between -20 °C and +70 °C.

Visually, the P1981M showcases a detailed surface texture featuring deep wood grains, realistic radial cracks, knots, and authentic annual ring details on the end cuts. The product is delivered with a factory primer coating, preparing the surface for painting. While this factory layer readies the surface, paint manufacturers often do not guarantee unprimed applications; therefore, applying an additional primer layer is optional and depends on the specific requirements of your chosen paint brand.

This 20x20 cm profile is ideal for spacious living rooms, rustic restaurants, hotel lobbies, and country-style villas. Its hollow-back design allows it to easily hide unsightly ceiling cables, pipes, or structural steel supports, combining aesthetic appeal with practical utility. It can be used as parallel ceiling joists, cross-beams, or decorative framing around doorways and fireplaces.

Installing the beam is straightforward and efficient compared to real timber. The process requires applying polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive to the contact surfaces, followed by mandatory mechanical anchoring using screws. Joints and screw holes can be easily filled with compatible filler, sanded with 180-220 grit sandpaper, and finished with water-based or synthetic paints. Unlike heavy plaster or natural oak, it requires no heavy-duty structural reinforcement.
