coffered ceiling panel

A coffered ceiling panel is a single polyurethane piece with a square or rectangular frame that forms the ceiling in a coffered ceiling system. The panels are joined side by side and end to end to create a regular recessed pattern across the ceiling surface. They are used on living room, office and entrance hall ceilings. The polyurethane panel is lightweight and is fixed directly to the ceiling with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, will not crack or blister, and can be painted. Compared with a wooden panel it is unaffected by moisture and, being lighter, allows one-person installation. Since it is mould-cast, the panel dimensions are standard and the joints align cleanly without the pattern shifting. Polure produces coffered ceiling panels in different size and pattern options.
