classic batten installation

Classic batten installation is the process of mounting polyurethane battens on a wall or ceiling surface to create dressing. After the surface is cleaned and levelled, the battens are measured, joined at the corners and fixed with construction adhesive; the joints are filled with filler and prepared for painting. Polyurethane battens are lightweight; they add no extra load to the surface and can be applied by a single person. The material resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or peel and can be painted. Compared with timber alternatives, it does not absorb moisture or swell and installs quickly. Because it is mould-cast, the profile cross-section continues identically on every piece, giving a neat transition during installation. For batten installation, Polure produces battens in a range of widths and profiles.
