classic ionic capital
A classic Ionic capital is the polyurethane decorative version of a classical column capital with a spiral volute on each side, belonging to the Ionic order. It is used on top of a column or pilaster shaft as the ornament joining the shaft to the ceiling or eave. It is preferred in interior and façade column applications. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or warp, and can be painted. Being far lighter than stone and plaster equivalents, it is easily mounted in high positions. Because it is cast from a mould, the volute curves come out the same on every capital. Polure produces the classic Ionic capital in a range of sizes.
