classical architectural bracket

A classical architectural bracket is a decorative support element that projects outward from the wall, shaped to appear to carry the shelf, moulding, or overhang above it. In classical architecture it is used beneath eaves, shelves, and moulding ends to give a supporting appearance, and indoors it serves as an ornamental element under shelves. Brackets made from polyurethane are lightweight and, unlike wood or stone versions, mount directly with construction adhesive. They resist moisture and impact, will not crack or swell, and can be painted. Because they are mould-cast, the scroll and volute details repeat identically on every piece.
