Neoclassical interior design is the composition of interior spaces with classical architectural elements and symmetrical proportions in mind. The placement and proportions of elements such as coving, panels, casings and columns at the ceiling, wall and transition points form the basis of this design. When the elements are made of polyurethane they are lightweight and applied directly with construction adhesive; they resist moisture and impact, do not crack, blister or warp, and can be painted. Being lightweight, they add no extra load to the ceiling and walls, and installation is faster than with plaster alternatives. Because they are mould-cast, the profile cross-sections repeat identically on every piece, which allows the symmetrical composition to be applied cleanly.
