oval ceiling medallion

An oval ceiling medallion is an oval-plan polyurethane ceiling ornament mounted at the centre of the ceiling. It is used on the ceilings of rectangular or oval-plan rooms to create a focal point around the chandelier and lighting fixture. Polyurethane is lightweight and is fixed directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Being lighter than plaster, it can be installed by one person in a short time. The oval form provides a balanced decorative area on horizontal surfaces in keeping with the room plan.
