window surround crown

A window surround crown is a polyurethane decorative element placed on the top line of a window surround to crown the opening. On the facade it completes the window top with a straight, arched or corniced line and, together with the side surround profiles, unifies the frame. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is fixed directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or peel, and can be painted. Being far lighter than a stone crown, it is easy to install at high points on the facade and is not damaged by moisture. Because it is mould-cast, the crown profile repeats identically on every piece. Polure produces window surround crowns in a range of sizes and models.
