above-window curve

An above-window curve is a polyurethane decorative element that completes the top edge of a window with a soft arc. It is used on facades and in interiors to create arched and semi-curved window appearances. Polyurethane is lightweight; thanks to its curved form it sits neatly against the wall with adhesive, resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Compared with plaster it is less fragile; compared with wood it stands up to damp. Because it is moulded, the curve profile is identical on every piece.
