Pilaster Crown

A pilaster crown is the relief polyurethane upper head piece at the very top of a pilaster column that crowns and finishes the body against the ceiling or cornice line. On interior and exterior facade walls it is applied over the pilaster body with mounting adhesive and completes the classical detailing. The polyurethane material is lightweight, resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Being lighter than its plaster or timber equivalent eases the work at high mounting points. Because it is mould-cast, the relief details repeat identically on every piece.
