Polyurethane pediments and crowns are decorative pieces placed above doors and windows or on a wall surface, used in classical architecture as an upper ornamental element. A pediment forms a horizontal or triangular crowning detail over an opening, while crowns are also used as top ornaments on cabinets, display units and furniture. The material is lightweight and bonds directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, will not crack, swell or warp, and takes paint well. Being lighter than plaster makes high installations easier, and unlike timber it is unaffected by moisture. Because each piece is cast from a mould, the relief detailing repeats identically across every unit. Polure produces pediments and crowns in a range of sizes and motifs.
