A polyurethane decorative motif is a polyurethane embellishment element in the form of an embossed pattern or figure applied to a surface. It is used as a single ornament on doors, walls, furniture and at cornice corners; flowers, leaves, rosettes and geometric patterns are common. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, will not crack, swell or split, and takes paint well. Compared with a plaster motif it travels without breaking and installs easily, and unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture. Because it is mould-cast, the motif detail repeats identically on every piece, and several pieces can be used to form symmetrical arrangements.
