Polyurethane coving is a decorative cornice element made of polyurethane with a relief or plain profile that is applied to the corner where the ceiling meets the wall. It is used in spaces such as living rooms, lounges and reception areas to emphasise the ceiling-to-wall transition and create a recess for concealed lighting. Polyurethane is lightweight and is applied directly to the corner with mounting adhesive; because it is produced in long pieces, the number of joints is reduced. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted after priming to match the colour of the room. Compared with plaster coving it is lighter, installs faster and needs no waiting for render to dry. Because it is mould-cast, the profile and motif details repeat identically on every piece.
