polyurethane dome

A polyurethane dome is a concave hemispherical polyurethane decorative ceiling element applied to the ceiling surface. It is used around chandelier rosettes and on entrance-hall and reception-room ceilings to create depth and a classical ceiling look. The polyurethane material is light and fixed to the ceiling with assembly adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or peel, and can be painted. Being much lighter than a plaster dome, it adds no extra load to the ceiling and installs quickly. Whether single-piece or assembled from joining parts, the form is mould-cast, so the same size and detail repeat in every unit. Polure produces the dome in a range of diameters and depths.
