polyurethane sub-rail

A polyurethane sub-rail is the intermediate profile that sits just below the handrail profile, connecting the top ends of the balusters and carrying the handrail. In a balustrade it organises the transition between the handrail and the balusters and completes the line; it is used in stair, balcony and terrace balustrades. The polyurethane material is light and fixed with assembly adhesive and a mechanical connection; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or peel, and can be painted. Unlike its wooden equivalent, it does not rot outdoors, and it is lighter than its stone equivalent. Because the profile section is mould-cast, the same size repeats on every piece.
