polyurethane pilaster base

A polyurethane pilaster base is a decorative polyurethane element placed at the bottom of a pilaster shaft to seat the shaft on the ground. It gives the pilaster a bottom finish and completes the junction of the shaft with the floor as a tidy transition. It is used together with the pilaster shaft and capital on facades and interior walls. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is fixed directly to the bottom of the pilaster and the wall with construction adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Being lighter than its stone or plaster equivalents makes installation easier. Since the base is mould-produced, the section and profile repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces pilaster bases in different options to suit the shaft size.
