Polyurethane fireplace cladding application is the process of covering the surface of an existing fireplace or niche with decorative polyurethane surrounds and panels. It is used to renew an old or plain fireplace or to turn a wall niche into a fireplace look. Polyurethane is light and is applied directly to the surface with mounting adhesive or screws; it resists moisture and impact, will not crack or swell and can be painted. Because it is fitted over the existing structure without demolition, it requires no breaking out and installs quickly. The surface can be painted with a marble, wood or solid-colour effect.
