Polyurethane decoration is the work of embellishing interior and facade surfaces by adding polyurethane decorative elements. Pieces such as ceiling medallions, cornices, bosses, corner motifs and casings accentuate walls, ceilings and the edges of openings. It is used in both classical and modern arrangements to add measured detail to surfaces. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied directly with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell and can be painted. It is lighter and faster to fit than a plaster or timber equivalent. Because the pieces are cast in moulds, the motif details repeat identically in every application.
