Rustic Rafter Tail

A rustic rafter tail is a wood-textured polyurethane finishing element that completes the visible end of a rafter profile with a rough timber cut look. It is used on open ceilings, eaves and canopies to give rafter ends a natural cut-timber appearance. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Unlike real wood it does not absorb moisture and swell and is not attacked by insects, and compared with plaster it is lighter and more break-resistant. Because the wood grain texture on the surface is mould-produced, it stays the same on every piece. Polure produces rustic rafter tails in sizes compatible with its rafter models.
