A fireplace side ornament is a small ornamental polyurethane decor piece added to the sides of a fireplace unit. It is used to add a motif, rosette or profile detail to the side edges of a decorative fireplace. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or warp and can be painted. Because it is mould-cast, the ornament details repeat identically on every piece and symmetrical placement is achieved.
