Above-fireplace decor is a polyurethane ornament element in the form of a crown, profile or panel placed on the upper section of a fireplace unit. It is used to define and dress the wall surface above the top slab of a decorative fireplace. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or warp and can be painted. Because it is mould-cast, the decor details repeat identically on every piece and give a clean look. Being lighter than plaster or timber equivalents makes installation in the upper area easier and reduces the load on the wall. Polure produces above-fireplace decor in a range of models and sizes.
