A ceiling coffer system is a polyurethane decoration application that divides the ceiling surface with trims or frames into square/rectangular compartments (coffers). It is used on living room, hallway, office and reception ceilings to divide a flat ceiling into geometric compartments and create a sense of depth and an ordered pattern. The polyurethane trims and frames are lightweight; they are fixed directly to the ceiling with mounting adhesive and need no support. They resist moisture and impact, do not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Being lighter than plaster, the installation load is low for a compartmented surface, and unlike wood they are unaffected by moisture. Because they are mould-produced, the trim cross-section is the same on every piece and the compartments align neatly.
