- Surface Inspection and Site Cleaning — Inspect the rigid polyurethane profile for transit dust, oils, or surface contaminants. Clean the substrate thoroughly using a dry microfibre cloth or light water-dampened sponge, ensuring complete dry conditions before proceeding.
- Precision Cutting and Adhesive Application — Cut the profiles to required lengths using a miter saw set to a precise 45-degree angle. Apply continuous beads of polyurethane assembly adhesive along the rear mounting channels. Standard silicone sealant is strictly forbidden as an structural adhesive.
- Mechanical Fixing and Joint Alignment — Press the profile firmly against the installation substrate. Mechanically secure the piece using corrosion-resistant screws inserted through countersunk pilot holes spaced along the length of the profile.
- Joint Filling and Fine Sanding — Fill screw countersinks and joint seams with a flexible, paintable polyurethane filler. Allow the filler to cure fully for 4 hours, then smooth the joints using sanding grana 180-220 with a fine 180-220 grit paper to achieve a flush surface.
- Base Primer Evaluation — Examine the substrate. While the profile features a factory primer primer acrilico bianco monocomponente, apply a dedicated acrylic bonding primer if you plan to use complex chemical glazes, dark patinas, or high-gloss enamels.
- Topcoat Painting — Apply 2 coats of premium water-based acrylic or UV-resistant exterior paint using a high-density synthetic brush or fine spray system. Allow a drying interval of 4 hours between each coat.
- Decorative Glazing and Final Sealing — For antique or patina finishes, apply an acrylic decorative glaze over the cured base coat, wiping back the raised surfaces with a damp cloth. Protect delicate artistic patinas and metallic leaf with a clear, non-yellowing acrylic topcoat.
