- Step 1: Structural Core Verification — Verify that the load-bearing steel or concrete skeleton is fully anchored, plumb, and built to the exact height specified by local building codes and project engineering plans.
- Step 2: Substrate Cleaning and Marking — Clean all mounting surfaces to ensure they are thoroughly dry and free from dust, oil, or loose debris. Mark exact baluster centerlines and handrail placement axes.
- Step 3: Precision Profile Miter Cutting — Cut handrails and base profiles to required lengths using a fine-tooth saw, executing 45-degree miter cuts at all corner joints for tight seamless fits.
- Step 4: Adhesive Application and Mechanical Anchor Installation — Apply continuous beads of polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive along profile mating surfaces. Anchor each section mechanically to the substrate using structural screws or threaded rods; standard silicone must never be used.
- Step 5: Baluster Alignment and Handrail Assembly — Set decorative polyurethane balusters over internal steel pins, verify vertical level, and mount the top handrail section firmly over the underlying structural core.
- Step 6: Joint Filling and Fine Sanding — Fill all mechanical fastener counter-bores and profile connection seams with exterior joint putty. Allow to cure completely, then sand flush using grana 180-220 sandpaper.
- Step 7: Final Coating and Exterior UV Protection — Inspect factory-primed surfaces and apply an optional secondary primer coat if necessary. For outdoor installations, finish with two complete coats of premium UV-resistant topcoat paint.
Materiali e attrezzi necessari
Domande Frequenti
Proper surface preparation ensures seamless aesthetic integration and long-term durability. After mechanical fasteners are countersunk, joint seams and screw heads must be filled with compatible exterior-grade joint putty. Once cured, all filled areas must be sanded smooth using grana 180-220 sandpaper. For exterior applications, applying an exterior-grade, UV-resistant topcoat paint in two full coats is mandatory to protect the polyurethane material from ultraviolet degradation and solar heat accumulation.
Quality Control Checklist and Common Installation Errors
Adhering to strict installation protocol prevents premature maintenance issues. Common errors include relying solely on chemical adhesives without mechanical screws, omitting the internal load-bearing steel skeleton, applying non-UV paints on outdoor installations, and using silicone sealant instead of polyurethane construction adhesive. Installers working with Polure systems should systematically inspect anchor embedment depth, miter joint alignment, and paint film continuity before final client handover.
