Our collection of flat cornices, manufactured from rigid, high-density polyurethane (PU) with a density of 150-200 kg/m³, offers an engineered alternative to traditional plaster and wood. This specific density provides a wood-like hardness and structural resilience while remaining lightweight, preventing unnecessary load on the building structure. The minimalist profiles, often specified in regional projects as 'poliüretan düz kartonpiyer' or 'sade tavan bordürü', feature a smooth, patternless surface that reflects light evenly to create an expansive spatial perception.
Technical Performance and Material Stability
Unlike gypsum plaster, which is heavy, fragile, and prone to cracking due to building settling, these high-density profiles offer superior dimensional stability. They do not shrink, expand, or warp under fluctuating conditions. The material exhibits high thermal resistance, maintaining its structural integrity within a temperature range of -20°C to +80°C. With a closed-cell structure, the water absorption rate remains under 1%, making these profiles practically immune to moisture, rot, and decay. This is a significant upgrade over traditional MDF or wood moldings, which swell and deform in humid environments.

For compact spaces, low-ceiling corridors, or minimalist apartments, smaller profiles like the P83004 (40x2400x45 mm) provide a subtle, clean border. For standard residential and commercial spaces, mid-sized options such as the P81321 (49x2400x99 mm) or the P81601 (100x2400x100 mm) establish a balanced proportion. Large-scale volumes, high-ceiling lobbies, and grand halls benefit from prominent profiles like the P831212 (127x2400x127 mm), P831212A (127x2400x127 mm), or the commanding P83091 (175x2400x175 mm), which anchor the ceiling lines without adding excessive dead weight.
Surface Finishing and Paint Compatibility
Each profile is delivered from the factory with a pre-applied primer coating that prepares the surface for the final paint layers. This factory-applied primer facilitates excellent paint adhesion for water-based, acrylic, or synthetic interior paints. However, it is important to note that paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee adhesion performance unless their own proprietary primers are used first. Consequently, applying an additional primer layer on-site is optional and remains at the discretion and responsibility of the client; Polure does not assume liability or guarantee the performance of third-party coatings. For exterior installations, the use of high-quality, UV-resistant paint is mandatory, as unpainted polyurethane is subject to yellowing when exposed to direct solar radiation over time.

Externally, they serve as clean finishings for soffits, porch ceilings, and under-eave details, provided they are coated with UV-resistant paint to withstand environmental exposure.
Installation
Successful installation of these profiles requires strict adherence to professional assembly standards. First, ensure the application surface is clean, dry, and free of loose paint or plaster. Measure carefully and perform 45-degree miter cuts using a dedicated miter box or a high-precision electric saw. For adhesion, apply a high-quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive (poliüretan (PU) montaj yapıştırıcısı) to the rear bonding surfaces; do not use silicone-based adhesives. Mechanical securing using screws or nails is mandatory to hold the profile firmly in place during the curing process. Once the adhesive cures, fill all joints and screw points with a suitable filler (exterior-grade putty for outdoor applications). Sand the joints smooth using 180-220 grit sandpaper, apply an optional primer if preferred, and finish with two coats of quality paint.
Care Information
Maintaining these high-density flat cornices requires minimal effort. Regular maintenance consists of dusting with a soft microfiber cloth or a static duster. For cleaning dirt or minor stains, use a damp cloth with mild, diluted soapy water. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents, abrasive cleaners, or wire brushes, as these can degrade the protective paint layers.
