Architectural Detail and Structural Sophistication
Defining the visual identity of a building requires precise detailing at critical structural transitions. The Söve Süsü product family comprises high-performance architectural accessories engineered to accentuate window frames, door headers, and facade junctions. Manufactured from rigid poliüretan (PU) with a high density of 150-200 kg/m³, these ornaments replicate the structural density and crisp detailing of traditional wood carving or stone masonry while remaining remarkably lightweight. This density range provides an optimal balance of structural strength and ease of handling, avoiding the extreme weight of concrete trims and the fragile nature of plaster molding.
Technical Properties and Environmental Resistance
Exterior facade components must withstand severe environmental fluctuations without structural degradation. Our Söve Süsü profiles maintain dimensional stability under extreme thermal conditions ranging from -20°C to +80°C, ensuring zero warping, shrinkage, or expansion. Engineered with a closed-cell physical structure, the material exhibits a water absorption rate of less than 1%, rendering it completely impervious to rain, rot, and moisture-induced decay. For safety-critical installations, the material possesses self-extinguishing fire-retardant properties, stopping combustion immediately once the external flame source is removed.
Surface Finishing and Paint Compatibility
Every Söve Süsü ornament is delivered with a protective, factory-applied primer coat that seals the surface and prepares it for final finishing. This factory primer is compatible with high-quality water-based and synthetic exterior paints. However, paint manufacturers typically do not guarantee paint adhesion unless their own proprietary primers are applied directly to the substrate first. Consequently, the application of an additional primer layer prior to final painting is optional and remains the sole responsibility of the client. Polure does not offer performance guarantees or accept liability for third-party paint products applied to our materials.
Comparative Advantages of High-Density Ornaments
- Plaster vs. Polyurethane: Unlike fragile plaster, these ornaments do not crack or break during transport or installation.
- Wood vs. Polyurethane: They are entirely immune to wood-boring insects, mildew, moisture warping, and rot.
- EPS/XPS vs. Polyurethane: They feature a much harder surface impact rating, allowing for sharp, highly detailed profiles that do not degrade under physical contact.
Usage Areas

The application of Söve Süsü ornaments extends across both exterior building envelopes and high-exposure interior spaces. On exterior facades, they are primarily utilized as decorative header corners for window frames, pediment ornaments above entryways, and termination accents for horizontal architraves. They are widely specified in premium residential villas, boutique hotels, and historical restoration projects to add depth to plain facades. For interior applications, these ornaments serve as corner decorative appliques for large wall panels, decorative trims around fireplace surrounds, and ornamental transitions at the corners of high-ceilinged entrance halls and commercial showrooms.

Installation

A successful installation of Söve Süsü elements requires adherence to standard structural practices. First, ensure the installation substrate is completely dry, clean, and structurally sound. For corner joints, execute precise 45-degree miter cuts using a dedicated compound saw. Apply a high-strength poliüretan (PU) montaj yapıştırıcısı evenly across the rear bonding surface of the ornament; do not use silicone-based adhesives under any circumstances. Mechanical fastening with stainless steel screws is mandatory to secure the ornament and prevent shifting while the adhesive cures. Once the adhesive is fully cured, fill all joint lines and screw heads with a premium exterior-grade putty. Sand the filled areas using 180-220 grit sandpaper to achieve a seamless surface. Apply an optional primer if required by your paint manufacturer, followed by two coats of premium UV-resistant paint to prevent yellowing caused by sunlight exposure.

Care Information

Due to their closed-cell structure and high material density, Söve Süsü decorative elements require minimal long-term maintenance. For routine cleaning, wipe the surfaces with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents, high-pressure steam cleaners, or abrasive scrubbing tools, as these can degrade the protective paint layers. For exterior installations, inspect the joints and paint integrity once a year. If the paint shows signs of weathering, the surfaces can be lightly sanded and refinished with a fresh coat of UV-resistant exterior paint to maintain the crisp appearance of the details.
