The acanthus leaf column capital is a polyurethane column capital worked with acanthus leaf decoration. Fitted to the top of columns and pilasters of the Corinthian order, it is used as a classical architectural finishing element. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or warp, and can be painted. Being much lighter than a stone or plaster capital, it is easy to carry and install. As it is cast in moulds, the leaf curves and proportions repeat identically on every piece.
