Architrave Decoration

Architrave decoration is the imitation with polyurethane elements of the architrave beam in classical architecture, which sits above the column capitals and forms the lowest section of the entablature. It is used in classical interiors above rows of columns as a horizontal ornament band together with the cornice and frieze. Polyurethane architrave elements are lightweight and are fixed with assembly adhesive; they resist moisture and impact, do not crack or swell and can be painted. Being lighter than stone and plaster equivalents makes installation easier at height and in long bands. Because they are mould-produced, the profile details repeat identically on every piece and form a continuous band with joints. Polure produces architrave and entablature elements in different profiles and sizes.
