Avant-garde and grand ceiling medallion designs make up a product category of wide, statement polyurethane ceiling medallions. In high-ceilinged spaces such as living rooms and entrance halls, they are placed at the centre of the chandelier to accent the middle of the ceiling. Polyurethane is lightweight, so a single person can fix it directly to the ceiling with mounting adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or peel, and can be painted; because it is lighter than its plaster equivalent, it adds no extra load to the ceiling.
